Steve Warrington died 11-8-07 at 7:10 am due to complications of pneumonia. "For there is hope in a dark world sometimes you must open your soul to find it." - Stephen Wallace Warrington - Bentonia, Mississippi - February 22nd 1999
He was a student of history. He worked for a little short line railroad but more on that a little later. So shall we begin our adventure into my World please grab a candle it is kinda dark in some places but we will never lose sight of the light. Please stroll through my little on line world.
The first photo above was taken in November 2001 at Gettysburg, PA at the site of Pickett's charge. I had only read about this great battle until this year. This November I got to walk those bloody fields and let my mind slip back to those three bloody days that forever changed our history. The 2nd Photo was taken in Portsmouth, England. I am standing on the gangway of the HMS VICTORY commissioned in 1749 and was Lord Nelson's flagship at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805 where he was shot and mortally wounded by a French Marine.

       Recognition (1865)
The above Painting Was painted in May of 1865 one month after the Ending of the American Civil War. Constant Mayer a painter from Alabama. Understood the true meaning of Friendship when his Brother a Soldier in the 11th Mississippi infantry was Captured late in the war. The Family believed he  was dead but in fact. He was rescued by  a old friend serving in the Union Army. Soon after the surrender of the Confederate Army Constant's brother returned home escorted by his friend. Upon seeing this he was inspired to paint Recognition. The Original Painting is now in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Glory of youth the wisdom of age and when combined Oh what a story
that they weave.
My Love of History
I love History and it was always my favorite subject in School. Well besides watching the cute boi's in class. The time period that really captures my intrests spands a long time period in American History from 1776 and the birth of our nation to The WarBetween the States (Civil War) or my Favorite title The War of Northern Aggression against the South. Ok, ok I know long title and long story behind that one. In fact my History Teacher Mr. Carlisle would count off on our test papers if we did not include the last title on our quiz at the end of that chapter. Then I love to read about the Spanish American War (A Wonderful Little War in the eyes of Teddy Roosevelt). The last time period for me is World War II. I had kin people fighting on both sides of that war just like in the Civil War. A great uncle of Mine Served on the Battleship Bismarck (German) while My Great uncles on this side of the Atlantic Served in both the Atlantic and Pacific. Including on my favorite ship the BB-41 the USS Mississippi a grand old war wagon. Ok I guess I better stop here or I will have to climb up on my Stump and start my lecture on what is wrong with the world today and we would be here for some time.

My Work
I work for a little Short line Railroad in North East Mississippi called the Kosciusko and Southwestern Railway the company is two years old but our tracks are much older built in the 1880's following the Civil War. We do Excursion runs for tourist and we haul freight out of the medium sized town of Kosciusko (named after the Famous Polish General) The railroad serves two purposes for me one a chance to get out and ride the rails since I am a Railroad buff also and to practice my Public Relations Skills I am the PR department of the Railroad so it is hectic at times but fun and a way to relax and listen to the click clack of Steel Wheels on Steel Rails will just about rock you to sleep. On Friday May 18th the first offical freight train of the Kosciusko and Southwestern made it's way through the swamps and hills to town awakening the slumbering town to the blare of train horns and the click clack of steel wheels as they eased through the switches. The local newspaper photographer was there to record the action of the first train in almost 4 years. It was a historical day for our little line and I must say I am damned proud I was part of it.

503 and the Crew of the first test run I am in the Orange shirt. The second pic is Joe and Buck two
of guys who help on the line.
